What we are looking for

As a key member of the Customer Supply Chain Team, the Customer Service Representative is the single point of contact for the order-to-delivery process.  The CSR manages the customer relationship and works with cross-functional peers to execute the customer order-to-delivery process.  Additionally, their responsibilities will include managing customer orders against forecast, troubleshooting and resolving delivery failures, executing against order programs and policy, managing customer penalty deductions through investigation and working with internal stakeholders to correct root cause, supporting production to allocate product, providing daily communication to sales team about fill rate and delivery expectations.

Role & Responsibilities

Summary of Day-in-the-Life:

  • Key contact for Buyer or Broker for orders, logistics, and inventory flow challenges for all day-to-day activities

  • Drive the new customer set-up process with the support of the Sales team, engaging all internal stakeholders to set up customers, products, freight requirements, and packaging requirements across the farm network.

  • Manages customer communication on any issues related to shipments

  • Collaborates with Transportation to establish new freight lanes/ delivery locations, to meet delivery of products on time and in full to customers

  • Proactively addresses product shortages with customers and the sales team.

  • Coordinates sample requests through the order management process.

  • Manages customer issues, complaints, and rejects.

  • Collaborates with Farm Planner, Sales, and Marketing team members to work through order to forecast variance.

  • Facilitate and participate in the weekly SHOP meeting.

  • Continually look for ways to improve processes aligned with GoodLeaf policies and procedures.

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external customers.

  • Ad hoc reporting to support processes and process improvements.

  • Monitoring customer order trends to identify steps to maximize fill rate.

  • Monitor forecast against farm output and identify extra volume by crop, and opportunities to increase customer orders.

  • Accountability and strong management of claims related to customer accounts.

  • Share knowledge with the team and contribute to SOP development and lessons learned.

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

  • Post-secondary education, with a minimum of three years’ experience in customer-focused support roles, preferably in agriculture, horticulture, or food-based operations in Canada

  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and early mornings as may be occasionally required.

  • Excellent ability to develop and maintain internal and external relationships

  • Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and organization skills with the ability to manage multiple competing tasks

  • Exceptional time management skills

  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal

  • Bilingual English & French preferred

  • Ability to work through conflict for a win/win outcome

  • Ability to forge partnerships with other areas to drive performance across business and functional lines

  • Self-motivated team player – able to be proactive and work with minimal supervision.

  • System Knowledge: proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel in particular; experience in ITrade, PowerBi, and EDI.

What we are looking for

The Production Planner Scheduler plays a crucial role in planning and forecasting daily production activities at the Farm.  Working closely with the Operations team, Commercial Team, and Logistics and Customer Service, the Production Planner Scheduler will ensure the seamless coordination of activities to meet production goals while maintaining high-quality standards.

Role & Responsibilities

Production Planning:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive production schedule, considering crop types, growth cycles, and customer demand.

  • Collaborate with the Operations team to optimize production efficiency and resource utilization.

  • Implement and monitor best practices for crop rotation and space utilization within the vertical farming system.

Forecasting:

  • Analyze historical production data and market trends to create accurate production forecasts.

  • Collaborate with the Commercial Team to align production plans with sales forecasts and market demand.

  • Adjust production schedules as needed to accommodate changes in demand or unforeseen circumstances.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Operations team to ensure that staffing levels, equipment, and resources are aligned with production schedules.

  • Liaise with the Commercial Team to understand sales strategies, promotions, and customer requirements.

  • Coordinate with Logistics and Customer Service to align production schedules with distribution and delivery plans.

Quality Assurance:

  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to maintain and improve product quality standards.

  • Implement quality control measures within the production process to ensure consistency and excellence.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in the production schedule.

  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and improve production performance.

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Systems), Mathematics, or other related degrees

  • Proven experience in production planning and scheduling, preferably in a greenhouse or fresh food production.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Familiarity with automated systems is a plus and even more of a plus if there is a familiarity with agricultural technology.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Millwright is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance functions of the facility to ensure all equipment is functional to meet production and business needs.  This includes helping to build and maintain all preventative maintenance programs for the Farm.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair automated food processing equipment

  • Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air condition equipment

  • Troubleshoot operational equipment malfunctions and enact repairs as required

  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability

  • Record observations regarding the condition and reliability of equipment

  • Work independently to complete repair requests and do planned projects

  • Enhance equipment performance by recommending and enacting improvements

  • Document work on a computerized maintenance management system

  • Other duties as determined necessary by farm requirements

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

  • Red Seal Millwright certification

  • Practical knowledge and experience with automated equipment and PLC’s

  • Experience in an industrial setting

  • Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic 313A would be an asset

  • Industrial Electrical 442A certification would be considered an asset

  • Any other applicable Red Seal Trade certification would be considered an asset

What we are looking for

The Head Grower is responsible for managing and optimizing our controlled agriculture growing system in Guelph.  This role is pivotal in ensuring consistent, high-yield production of our crops while maintaining the highest quality standards. The Head Grower will possess a deep understanding of plant science, horticulture, and controlled environment agriculture and will have a proven track record of leading teams and driving operational excellence.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Oversee Growing Operations:  Manage all aspects of the growing process, including crop planning, planting, cultivation, harvesting, and post-harvest handling. 

  • Optimize Growing Systems:  Continuously analyze and refine growing parameters (light, temperature, humidity, CO2, nutrients, etc.) to maximize yield, quality, and efficiency. 

  • Quality Assurance:  Work with Quality Assurance to implement and maintain rigorous quality control standards, ensuring that all produce meets or exceeds company specifications.

  • Team Leadership:  Lead and develop a high-performing team of Horticulture Technicians, providing training, mentorship, and support.

  • Collaboration:  Work closely with Quality, Operations, and R&D teams to identify and implement process improvements, new crop varieties, and innovative growing techniques.  Support and demonstrate organizational culture.

  • Data Analysis:  Utilize data analytics to monitor crop performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Research and Development:  Work with Research & Development to conduct and oversee trials to evaluate new growing techniques, crop varieties, and technologies.

  • Continuous Improvement:  Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall system performance.

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Plant Science, Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field.

  • Proven track record of achieving high commercial fruit or vegetable agriculture yields and quality.

  • Proven track record of individual and team development.

  • Experience advocating for corporate culture and key initiatives.

  • 1+ years' experience with hydroponic systems.

  • 1+ years' experience with controlled environment agriculture operations.

  • In-depth knowledge of agriculture lighting systems and their impact on plant growth.

  • Knowledge of plant pathology in controlled environments.

  • Experience leading the execution of agricultural trials and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be able to travel across borders when and if required.

En tant qu’électricien de maintenance chez les fermes GoodLeaf, vous jouerez un rôle crucial pour assurer le bon fonctionnement et l’absence de interruptions de notre exploitation. Vous serez responsable de la maintenance électrique, du dépannage et des réparations sur une vaste gamme d’équipements et de systèmes afin de minimiser les temps d’arrêt et de maintenir un environnement de travail sécuritaire.

Rôle et responsabilités (lignes directrices, mais pas uniquement)

  • Entretien de l’équipement : Effectuer des inspections de routine, des entretiens préventifs et des réparations sur l’équipement et les machines, y compris les moteurs, les pompes, les convoyeurs et les lignes de production.

  • Dépannage : Diagnostiquer et résoudre les problèmes électriques, identifier les causes profondes et mettre en œuvre des solutions efficaces pour résoudre les problèmes rapidement.

  • Réparations électriques : Effectuer les réparations électriques et le remplacement des composants au besoin, en veillant à la conformité aux normes et protocoles de sécurité.

  • Systèmes électriques : Entretenir et mettre à niveau les systèmes électriques, y compris les panneaux de commande, les interrupteurs et les circuits, pour améliorer l’efficacité et la fiabilité.

  • Conformité en matière de sécurité : Respecter toutes les règles et directives de sécurité, promouvoir une culture de la sécurité au sein de l’équipe de maintenance et dans l’ensemble de l’installation.

  • Documentation : Tenir des registres exacts des activités de maintenance, de l’état de l’équipement et de l’historique des réparations.

  • Collaboration : Collaborer avec les autres membres de l’équipe de maintenance et le personnel de production pour coordonner les calendriers de maintenance et réduire au minimum les temps d’arrêt de la production.

  • Intervention d’urgence : Être disponible pour les services de garde en cas d’urgence électrique et de panne en dehors des heures normales de travail.

Qualifications et éducation

  • Les candidats doivent être titulaires d’un permis de travail au Canada à titre d’électricien industriel du Sceau rouge; 

  • Toute autre certification professionnelle du Sceau rouge applicable serait considérée comme un atout; 

  • Posséder des connaissances pratiques et de l’expérience en matière d’équipement automatisé et de GCP; 

  • Capacité à bien travailler dans un environnement d’équipe et à soutenir les autres membres de l’équipe; 

  • L'adaptabilité est cruciale puisque nous constituons une équipe unie. Il est nécessaire d'être disposé à contribuer aux réparations mineures ainsi et majeur ainsi qu’à la maintenance mécanique.

  • Compétences en communication efficaces, axées sur le service à la clientèle; 

  • Expérience dans divers contextes de fabrication industrielle, de préférence une opération de transformation des aliments
