What we are looking for
The Senior Farm Accountant plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the financial operations and accounting functions related to the facility's manufacturing, production, and operations. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this position ensures accurate cost analysis, reporting, and budgeting to help drive efficiency, profitability, and operational improvement. The Senior Farm Accountant will provide detailed insights on cost structures, manage inventory control, track financial performance, and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
What you will be doing
Actively participate in the SAGE X3 Implementation
Support the Farm Manager with financial insights and analysis
Establish a strong control environment to protect assets and minimize costs
Set up systems and processes for the costing function, this includes the full range of Cost Accounting activities
Development and maintenance of Bill of Materials
Responsible for tracking, analyzing and planning operating expenses
Prepare and provide analysis of cost variances to support month end reporting
Work closely with Supply Chain to provide them with support relating to usages and cost related matters
Support warehousing team on Inventory count, control of RAW material inventory and responsible for approving adjustments in the system due to Inventory count discrepancies
Actively participate in the monthly financial review of the farm
Participate in the preparation of the annual plant operating budget including standard product cost development, budgeted variances, cost center budgeting, headcount requirements, volume analysis and raw material pricing analysis
Participate in the coordination & preparation of the farm’s operating forecasts
Follows and comply with all GoodLeaf Farms, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Provincial and Company Health and Safety standards and Company Safe Quality Foods standards and guidelines.

Education and Qualifications
Cost accounting in CPG and Bill of Material knowledge
Working knowledge of SAGE X3, or any other ERP with manufacturing modules
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and within a team
3-5 years of experience in a similar role
CPA, CMA or other designations or working toward designation is a plus
Experience budgeting and forecasting in a manufacturing environment
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field (required)
